The Glorious Mysteries

The Glorious Mysteries celebrate Christ's triumph over death and the glory He shares with His Mother Mary. These mysteries fill us with hope for eternal life and inspire us to live as citizens of heaven.

1

The Resurrection

Fruit: Faith

"He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay."

Matthew 28:6

Meditation

Christ rises from the tomb, conquering death and sin forever. The empty tomb proclaims that love is stronger than death. In this mystery, we find the foundation of our faith and the promise of our own resurrection.

2

The Ascension

Fruit: Hope

"So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God."

Mark 16:19

Meditation

Forty days after His resurrection, Jesus ascends to the Father in glory. He goes to prepare a place for us, reminding us that our true home is in heaven. We are called to set our hearts on things above.

3

The Descent of the Holy Spirit

Fruit: Love of God

"All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability."

Acts 2:4

Meditation

The Holy Spirit descends upon Mary and the Apostles at Pentecost, filling them with divine gifts. The Church is born in fire and wind. We pray for the Spirit's gifts to strengthen us for our mission.

4

The Assumption

Fruit: Grace of a Happy Death

"Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away; for now the winter is past, the rain is over and gone."

Song of Solomon 2:10-11

Meditation

At the end of her earthly life, Mary is assumed body and soul into heavenly glory. This dogma reveals God's plan for all the faithful—that our bodies, too, will share in Christ's resurrection.

5

The Coronation

Fruit: Trust in Mary's Intercession

"A great portent appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars."

Revelation 12:1

Meditation

Mary is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth, sharing in her Son's royal glory. As our Mother and Queen, she intercedes for us before the throne of God. We entrust ourselves to her maternal care.
