Opening
O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, etc.
"St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil."
The Chaplet of St. Michael was given to the Portuguese Carmelite nun Antonia d'Astonac in a private revelation. St. Michael appeared to her and revealed this powerful prayer, promising special protection to those who pray it.
This chaplet honors St. Michael and the nine choirs of angels through nine salutations, each consisting of one Our Father and three Hail Marys. It is particularly powerful for protection against evil, in times of spiritual warfare, and for the grace of a happy death.
St. Michael promised that whoever would practice this devotion would have, when approaching Holy Communion, an escort of nine angels chosen from each of the nine choirs.
Each salutation honors one choir and asks for a particular virtue

O glorious prince St. Michael, chief and commander of the heavenly hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits, servant in the house of the Divine King and our admirable conductor, you who shine with excellence and superhuman virtue, deliver us from all evil, who turn to you with confidence, and enable us by your gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day. Amen.
St. Michael promised to those who pray this chaplet:
