Chaplet of the Little Flower

"I will spend my heaven doing good on earth. I will let fall a shower of roses."

— St. Therese of Lisieux

Chaplet composed by Desheng Chen

About This Devotion

St. Therese of Lisieux (1873-1897), known as the Little Flower, entered the Carmelite convent at age 15 and died at just 24 years old. Despite her short life, her spiritual writings—especially her autobiography "Story of a Soul"—have inspired millions with her "Little Way" of doing small things with great love.

Before her death, Therese promised: "I will spend my heaven doing good on earth. I will let fall a shower of roses." Countless devotees have reported receiving roses as signs of her intercession—making her one of the most beloved intercessors in the Church.

This chaplet invites St. Therese to pick roses from the heavenly garden and send them as messages of God's love and answers to our prayers.

How to Pray the Chaplet

Using ordinary rosary beads

1. On the Crucifix

Make the Sign of the Cross, then pray:

O my God! Holy Trinity, I desire to love You and make You loved. I desire to accomplish perfectly Your will and reach the degree of glory You prepared me in Your kingdom. In other words, I wish to be a saint but feel my own powerlessness and ask You, O my God, to be Yourself my saintliness.

2. On the First Large Bead

The Offering

Saint Therese, the Little Flower, please pick a rose from the Heavenly Garden and send it to me in a message of love. Ask God to grant me the favor I thee implore, and tell Him I will love Him more and more.

Saint Therese of Lisieux, Little Flower, I bind these blood red roses, snow white buds, and full blown roses with a petition and request that you would send it to me.

Our Father...

3. On the Three Small Beads

For an increase in virtues

For an increase in faith, hope, and charity; and that Saint Therese in a letter of love would send me a rose.

3 Hail Marys

4. State Your Petition

Glory Be, then the prayer, then state your intention
